What this service is

The Santa Picker draws Secret Santa names and gives each participant a private link to their match. It's free, needs no account, and is offered as-is. There is no paid tier, no contract, and nothing to cancel.

Links are your responsibility

Because there are no accounts, the links are the access control. Whoever holds a link can use it. That means:

  • Send each person their own link privately. Posting the list into a group chat lets everyone open everyone else's page, which ends the surprise for the whole group.
  • Keep your organizer link. It's the only way back to the exchange. We can email it to you if you gave us an address; if you didn't, we have no way to prove the exchange is yours and cannot recover it for you.
  • We can't tell whether the person opening a link is the person you sent it to.

What you agree not to do

  • Don't put anything unlawful, abusive, or harassing into names, notes or wishlists. Other people read those.
  • Don't use the email feature to send mail to people who haven't agreed to take part. It exists to deliver links to your own group, not to reach strangers.
  • Don't attempt to guess links, scrape the site, or interfere with it — including by automating draws. Abuse limits are in place and will stop you.
  • Don't use the site to do anything illegal where you live.

We may remove an exchange that breaks these rules, without notice. In practice this almost never happens, and it isn't something a normal group needs to think about.

This is not storage

Every exchange is deleted 90 days after it's created. That's a deliberate privacy feature, not a limitation to work around — but it does mean the site is not a place to keep anything you want to look at later. If you need a record of who had whom, keep your own copy before it expires.

Availability

We try to keep the site up and correct, but it's provided without any warranty. We don't promise it will always be available, that a draw will be free of faults, or that data won't be lost through an outage or an error. If the site were to shut down, exchanges in progress would go with it.

Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of the site — including a spoiled surprise, a link that reached the wrong person, an email that didn't arrive, or an exchange that was deleted. It's a free tool for a party game, and it's used on that basis.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ads and third parties

The site carries advertising, which is what pays for running it, and uses analytics to understand how it's used. Ads and links may take you to sites we don't control and aren't responsible for. The privacy policy explains what those services collect.

Changes

These terms may change as the tool does. The date at the top shows when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
